Landrace to Brighton - April 17th
Gravel/CX MTB bikes | 130 km | 1140 m | 65% Off Road
Date: Friday 17th April 2026.
The iconic journey that all London's Gravel riders need to do.
Start off at the Landrace showroom at 38 Store Street shop; we’ll roll south through London, hitting the dirt at Mitcham Common. On the way, we’ll ride past the country’s oldest Grotto (yes, that’s a thing) and a Bronze Age hill fort before stopping for Coffee stop in Coulsdon to refuel, then it's straight into the fun of Happy Valley.
Happy Valley, climb the North Downs to the view point to see a the South Downs in the far distance.
There’s a fun little sandy climb (trust me, you’ll love it) before we cruise through woodlands and across farmland to meet the Worth Way. We’ll hit some singletrack through Tillingate Forest before stopping for lunch in Pease Pottage - sounds so medieval.
A gentle post-lunch warm-up along bridleways before we join the Downs Link and cruise a solid 15 km to Steyning. Then it’s the long, old grind up to the final summit at Fulking Hill, (spelling is correct) but don’t worry—there’s a glorious descent waiting on the other side. We’ll roll into Brighton for fish 'n' chips and a well-earned beer by the sea.
Led by Charlie, this is a fast-paced small group ride, averaging 17–20 km/h, with brief stops for coffee and lunch.
Landrace to Bognor
Gravel/CX MTB bikes | 130 km | 1300 m | 65% Off Road
Date: Wednesday 16th July.
This is a tough one — and here’s why: the majority of the route winds along singletrack and woodland trails that take you up and over Leith Hill, the highest peak in the Southeast, before continuing across the South Downs. It’s lumpy, beautiful, and a proper challenge.
Starting from the Landrace showroom at 38 Store Street location, the route heads west, leaving London via Hampton Court and following bridleways through Surrey. There’s a coffee stop in Claygate, and lunch awaits at in a pub near Cranleigh, after the thrilling descent from Leith Hill.
The long afternoon stretch takes you along the Snake Path, weaving through the woods as you cross the South Downs. Then it’s a final flat-out charge across the coastal plain to well-earned fish and chips by the sea.
Highlights:
- Leith Hill Summit – The highest point in Southeast England with stunning woodland climbs and a rewarding view at the top
- Miles of winding trails and byways
- Cross the South Downs Way
